The only child of a single father who went from being a farmhand in Azerbaijan to a farm owner in the United States, Parishan is a shy, awkward, outdoors loving daydreamer who one day discovered she had incredible powers. Her ability to control light is often dangerous and flares up when she's not meaning to do it, but she has a very supportive family, even though that family is really just her dad. Her father has never disliked her for her accidents or damage she's caused, he just loves her and wants the best for her. Her awkwardness is not one born of powers or a bad family situation, just natural shyness, which is what leads to power build ups when she bottles her emotions yet again or has problems expressing negative emotions.

She likes fairy tales, fantasy and comics more when she wasn't living one in her photokinetic way. Life was better when it consisted of school, home and the outdoors. Still, in a world of people who think of her powers as myth, it's nice to have a soft place to fall, even if that soft place is just one person and an ancient farmhouse that needs repairs. A bookworm and an outdoorsy type might seem like contradictory traits, but that's just how she lives her life. Parishan is also a music-lover, of all kinds of genres and groups, which shows in her willingness to buy music by random people from thrift stores. She takes pleasure in simple things, in living a quiet life. Contentment is her goal, not ambition, as her shyness keeps her from reaching for any of her dreams. There's a fun girl somewhere down in there, but it's buried under doubts, anxiety and the constant desire not to let her powers destroy anything or hurt anyone.
